Residents with lives
Named families in real homes. They walk to work, staff the tills, go to school, shop, sit in the pub, grow old and have children.
A MINECRAFT BEDROCK ADD-ON
You start life aged 10 in a seaside town of 86 residents, each with a name, a home and a routine. Get through the school gates by 10:00, get a job at 16, rent a flat, catch the bus to the pier and see what kind of life you make.
The Living City, by Chris Jones + Claude
v0.1.0 · town 1.8 MB · add-on 0.8 MB · Free development build
Requires Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.50+. The .mcworld already has the whole town built.
Named families in real homes. They walk to work, staff the tills, go to school, shop, sit in the pub, grow old and have children.
Terraces, semis, a mansion, flats and seafront apartments. Rent from 18, buy, repair and sell. Your door only opens for you.
Four 10-day seasons. Earn 120 school credits, then jobs open at 16, 18 and 21. You age on your own birthday.
YOUR HOME TOWN
About 340 × 340 blocks: twelve city blocks, a promenade, a beach and a pier, with farmland round the edge.
Two buses run an 11-stop loop with zombie drivers. An ambulance drives the roads when you call 999 from your Logbook.

THE PEOPLE
Residents come in every skin tone, with different hair, glasses and hats. Staff wear their uniforms: police, nurses, chefs, shop staff, office workers, and the bus drivers, who are zombies.

FROM DOWNLOAD TO FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
You'll need your own copy of Minecraft Bedrock. Java Edition is not supported.
Download the .mcworld and open it with Minecraft. It imports as Seabourne - The Living City, with the add-on included.
Open the world. You're 10, it's 07:45 on a school day, and your Logbook is in your last hotbar slot. The school gates open at 09:30 and shut at 10:00.
Open the .mcaddon, create a new Flat world and activate The Living City behaviour pack. No experiments needed. The town builds itself in about two minutes, your street first.
FIRST RELEASE · 25 OCTOBER 2026

Work and money: real vacancies at real workplaces, a time clock, tasks, and pay every half hour. Every penny is tracked, with receipts.
Shops: take goods off the shelves into a basket and pay at the till. Cafes, the chippy and the pub cook to order. Drinks are 18+. Walk out without paying and the police come after you.

Coming later: cars and dealerships, pets, running your own shop, the casino, nightclubs and bigger leisure venues. Server owners can switch off crime, alcohol and illness.
DEVELOPMENT BUILD FOR PLAYTESTING
Mojang's Bedrock server 1.26.52 builds the whole town and passes 30 self-checks and 45 automated play-throughs: school, shopping, jobs, arrests and bail, ambulances, death and new lives, homes, elections and buses. Models, the on-screen display and controller feel still need a real-device playtest.
Use your Logbook for everything: school, jobs, money, homes, family, health, friends, the map and your record. Talk to residents to shop, order food, see the doctor or vote.
Use a shelf to pick something up; sneak and use it to put it back. Pay at the till. Use a bus to board, press Jump to ring for your stop.
Everyone joins one world: share it over your Wi-Fi as a LAN game, or run it on a Bedrock Dedicated Server. Players' ages, jobs and homes are their own; the clock, the shops and the town are shared.
